This is not a brochure site. It is my notes from trips — where I went, what it cost, what I'd skip next time. Destination guides, stays that earned a write-up, and the scraps that refuse a neat category.

I'm Erik R.. By day I'm an engineer. Off the clock I ride motorcycles, hike when the weather cooperates, and take trips that leave room for getting slightly lost. Those trips end up here.

I started writing because I was tired of the polished circuit: the same overlooks, the same “don't miss” lists, advice that never seemed disappointed. I get disappointed. I skip things. I've paid too much for mediocre soup and then spent years thinking about the bowl that was worth eating standing up. If a detour was cold, crowded, or not worth the money, you'll hear it the way you would from a friend who actually went.

There is no sponsorship money rewriting the sentences. No courses. No popups hunting your email. Just one person's field notes — useful if you're planning something, skippable if you're not.

Read what you need and leave the rest. If one piece makes you reconsider a route you had already written off, good enough.
